General Practitioners and Health Professionals

SHARE:

You see many carers who come into your practice but many don’t recognise themselves as one and aren’t aware of the advice and support that is available to them. That may harm their own health and wellbeing resulting in more appointments with you and more admissions to the hospital.

When carers are identified early and properly supported, they are better able to continue in their caring roles. It’s important that they register as carers with their GP, so that they can access the support they need.

Health and social care staff play a vital role in identifying and supporting carers of all ages. We’re here to support you with the resources you need to help identify and support carers.
